The 2022 Honda BR-V Debuts As Small Crossover With Seven Seats.
The Honda BR-V is a subcompact crossover SUV which has been manufactured by Honda since 2016. Developed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific, the first generation model shares its platform with the second generation Mobilio, which itself based on the lengthened Brio platform. While it offers three row seating as standard or as an option, the BR-V is positioned below the HR-V.
The three-row SUV of the second generation looks much more solid than its predecessor, it has acquired a complex of Honda Sensing safety systems. The drive is still only front.
The power configurations is provided by a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine producing 120 horsepower and 145 Newton-meters of torque. Output is channeled to the front wheels through a CVT, which Honda says is new and more efficient.
Orders for the next generation Honda BR-V are already taking place, although pricing has yet to be announced. Deliveries to customers will start in early 2022, and apparently next year, such a model will reach other Asian markets.
