2021 New Subaru Outback for Europe



The New Subaru Outback for Europe with a huge tablet, but without a turbo engine.





The sixth-generation Subaru Outback, the US were the first to receive such a five door, because the US are a priority market for the model, local assembly cars are available there. And only recently a fresh barn was put on the conveyor of a Japanese enterprise. In early March, the sixth-generation Outback reached Australia and from April will begin sales in Europe.

The Subaru Outback was transferred to the modular platform (Subaru Global Platform), which also underlies the rest of the latest models of the brand. The global version differs from the US specs, the Outback has slightly different bumpers and head optics. Well, if we compare with its predecessor, then on a radically different exterior design.





The interior also became a little more spacious, the distance between the first and second row of seats increased by almost 11mm. Sound insulation has also been improved. And also the multimedia system with a vertical touchscreen with a diagonal of 11.6-inches and it is included in the base. The list of standard equipment for the Outback designed for Europe includes the EyeSight complex, a stereo camera is installed under the windshield, it includes adaptive cruise control, auto braking, lane keeping, collision avoidance at intersections and road sign recognition. Plus, a camera is provided for the model that recognizes the drivers face, monitors fatigue, also the electronics will automatically adjust the seat and adjust the climate.

The powertrain in the US-specs Outback is offered with an optional turbocharged 2.4-liter gasoline engine pumping out 260 horsepower, its European cousin is stuck with the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine rated at 180 horsepower. Subaru says the horizontally opposed boxer engine is 90 percent new compared to what the previous model had and benefits from a higher compression ratio.





Regarding the transmission, it is highly likely that an improved CVT that imitates the gear ratio of the 8-speed automatic transmission will be installed and horsepower loss due to the adoption of a hydraulic system and low oil viscosity. It is expected to appear as an off road model that is powerful yet fuel efficient by equipping it with a four wheel drive system equipped with torque vectoring as standard equipment.

The Subaru will accepting of orders for the sixth-generation Subaru Outback in coming summer.
